There are 2 Ibis hotels in La Rochelle one in the center of town and another very close to the Clock Tower. The front facing the Vieux Port and Basin has some hotels with views over the port. Do walk into the centre of town and check out the hotel St Georges (I'll post the address and telephone number as soon as I can) it's beautiful and not at all expensive. Also try: Hotel Saint Jean d'acre à la rochelle - 4 place de la chaine 17 000 La Rochelle
Flights to LaRochelle France:

Internet access:
You can find a center just 50 or so steps from the above office heading back towards the boats.
Promenade to Les Minimes:
If you leave La Rochelle on the south port side, there's a pleasant walk along the quayside to Les Minimes. There you will find a man-made harbour with many pleasure boats, along with restaurants, bars and marine supply shops. La Rochelle France

                    Francais

La Rochelle is one of the most beautiful places in France. There is an old port which still has the towers which used to protect it. The center is particularly beautiful, with pale stone used for the majority of the buildings and many of the walkways.
See more about La Rochelle tourism here.
There are 2 basins in the old port which now have a large number of pleasure boats moored there. The fireworks for the 14th of July Bastille day celebrations are very impressive. Hotels are plentiful, and prices are very keen. Some offer views across the harbour, although these rooms command a higher price.

La Rochelle Tower

La Rochelle's famous clock tower as seen from across the main basin. La rochelle's busiest bars, cafes and restaurants can be found facing the basin. Passenger vessels from abroad do not enter France here so you'll need a flight or drive in.

La Rochelle Centre

The center of town is full of superb buildings, with pale stone used for the majority of them and many of the walkways. As you can see, it is one of the prettiest places in France.

The clock tower once again, this time from the other side. It's probably the single most famous feature along with the port fortifications. Walk through and you'll be at the port.

Also try Camping Soleil which you can find on the road on the south side of the harbour past the main library, direction Aytre. Accommodation:
There seem to be very few B+B's in the area. I'll be trying to find some on my next flight and posting information as soon as possible. Possibly going to Aytre may be more successful if you're looking for bed and breakfast. In the mean time you could try Massigny Velluire Vendee Pays de Loire 85770 +33 2 51 52 30 32
Longer stays:
If you are looking for a longer stay in La Rochelle it may be worth looking in the tourist office. They have an announcement board where you can find studios and appartments to rent. They can also advise you on flights, travel, attractions, etc.
Rail Staion:
The train station is within a short walk of the center of town, literally 400 metres from where most of the popular hotels are situated. So you can easily stay for a few days without having to rent a car. To reach the town, leave the station by the main exit, cross the main road, (station behind you), and keep going.
Panorama:
The panorama is made up of 3 photographs. I made the site because I sell photographs and I adore Larochelle. All photos on all of my sites are for sale, please email me if you are interested. You can also put business proposals to me etc.
